Claire Dewitt and the City of the Dead by Sara Gran

This story takes place in New Orleans- in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Claire Dewitt is a P.I. who operates in an unorthodox fashion. She is on a case to solve a murder and along the way meets and befriends some colorful characters.
A bit of a dark story, a little lacking in the humor department. All around this story was just ok for me. I will give the second story a chance- in the hopes that it will be in a more interesting setting and hopefully a little more humorous.
On a scale of 1-5 stars this one would only get a vote of three from me.

The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

A great start to a new series! I loved it! As usual, Janet never disappoints! I am saddened that I have to wait for the next one. I I want to see what epic adventure Janet and Lee have in store for us next with Kate and Nick. This was a quick, easy, and fun read. I enjoyed every second of it- savoring every page. It was never dull or boring. It had the perfect combination of adventure, romance, and humor- all rolled into one. The characters were very likeable- they all have their own little quirks. Janet and Lee realy brought the characters to life for me. The descriptive writing was never over-done, the words moved across the page eloquently. If you are looking for a great beach read, I highly recommend this book. I am anxious to read the next book in the series. Waiting is such sweet sorrow.

Reviews From the Bookaholic-Welcome To My Blog!

Hello all! Welcome to my blog!
I am new to this, and this is my first blog. I hope to bring you all some helpful reviews and get you reading that book that has been sitting in your TBR(to be read) pile, or save you from the boredom and disappointment of lackluster read.
For me, I am rarely let down by what I am reading. I can almost always get something out of what I have chosen to read, and I hope I can help do the same for you.
I feel that if I pick up a book and something is coaxing me to read it, then there is something in it for me. I rarely pick up a book and never finish. I can say in my lifetime, I think I have done it a total of two times. That is not saying much for the book if I put it down. I am an avid reader and like to read EVERYTHING! All the way from self-help, spiritual, religious, biographies-all the way to, mystery, suspense, horror, sci-fi, romance.
Any way, I am starting to ramble on a bit. I hope I can help you in you reading adventure! I plan on posting at least two reviews per week, but not making any promises, life gets hectic. I am also working on my writing, hopefully one day soon I will be having my first novel published. Say a prayer, or wish me luck! Happy reading!

Under The Dome-Stephen King

I have always loved a good horror and suspense story,  since I was a young child.I have berm reading Stephen King    for quite some time. It had been quite some time since I picked up one of his books, and boy is this a heavy one to pick up!
If you like to read e-books, may I suggest this one in that exact format. At 1072 pages this book is a heavy read!
In the beginning, at times the story line can be a little hard to follow. So many different characters and perspectives within the story. It takes a bit of time before you can remember who is who.
If you are one who does not prefer perverted and crude language, this is NOT the read for you. There is plenty of it.
Stephen King wound up quite a cast of characters in this book and he brings them to life for me. I felt as if they were real people who could be living in my small home-town. Stephen King did a magnificent job with bringing this story to life for his readers. He had me thinking about the situation of the dome quite a bit. He made it feel like it is something that could happen in real life, Truly gets your mind going. He awoke my imagination!
I will not say much about the dome or the plot of the story because I am not one to give things away. However, let me say this, if you are looking for a book that keeps you turning the page and is an imaginative, one-of-a-kind story, pick it up! It will keep you entertained and take up a good amount of time.
